Unit C1 Hutchinson Telecom

We at Globe scaffolding are proud to have erected one of the largest temporary roofs in Europe, located north of London.

The roof is an integral part of protecting this building, within which there are many operations that cannot be disturbed in any way and water entering the building would have devastating consequences.

The colossal roof measures a staggering 45m wide and 64m long, with a total coverage area of 2823sqm. To avoid working unprotected at height and climbing on the beams, no cranes were used in the erection; the roof was erected entirely with the roll out method using Combisafe’s Runway track system.

During this process, our scaffolders worked from the safety of a stepped gable end to assemble each bay of the temporary roof. The complete 25 bays with an assembly weight of over 30 tons, took an average of five scaffolders, 15 days to complete without any difficulty or problems.

Park lane

We were extremely honoured when we were awarded a prestigious project in Park Lane on behalf of Kier Wallis. This was extremely high profile as the former bunny club was transformed into a five star hotel, as one of the Dorchester collection.

The scaffold consisted of cabin support and loading gantries, a passenger goods hoist and a full envelope scaffold for demolition and refurbishment. In addition the internal structure was significantly adapted using heavy duty propping, crash decks and bird cages with a higher level of engineering design and complexity.
